Our History

In 1969 Peak Technology Enterprises was born and still going strong today!

In 1969, Peak Technology Enterprises was born—and we’re still building strong today.

Buster Woo moved his family from Hawaii to California in the late 1960s in search of better medical care for his wife. With seven children to support and no real estate license in California, Buster took a job at a plastics company. Money was tight, but his entrepreneurial spirit wasn’t.

While working night shifts, Buster began crafting custom fish tanks out of scrap plastic in his small Daly City apartment. These hand-made tanks, bent with heat to showcase the fish clearly, were an instant hit. His wife would bring them to local fish stores, where they quickly gained popularity—and just like that, what would eventually become Peak Technology Enterprises was born.

Timeline Highlights:

• 1969 – Buster Woo unofficially starts the business making plastic fish tanks in Daly City, CA

• 1971 – Peak builds the famous fish bed featured in Diamonds Are Forever

• Early 1980s – Peak works with Atari on the Topo Robot project, entering the robotics space

• 1999 – Sharon Woo takes over the company and transitions Peak into a full-scale manufacturing business

Evolution Through Innovation

Under Sharon’s leadership, Peak transitioned from a home-grown plastics business to a precision manufacturing company supporting industries like aerospace, biomedical, and semiconductor.

• Shifted away from fish tanks by early 2000s

• Expanded into plastic pressure forming, CNC machining, and metal fabrication

• Invested in internal process improvement and advanced manufacturing technologies

• Focused on delivering high-tolerance, production-grade components across North America

A Legacy of Adaptability and Growth

Peak has grown by staying true to its roots: solving problems, supporting family, and investing in relationships. Today, we operate out of a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in San Jose, combining heritage craftsmanship with the latest in additive, subtractive, and system-level manufacturing.
